Moving naturally, untouched, gliding, smoothly, with ease, moving around obstacles with humor, in harmony. What we’d like to look forward to each day. But our lives often get hectic and stressed, being reminded of everyday realities. We want release, to absorb ourselves in something simple and pure, without a cause or a message or a need, other than for us to look at and ponder, and think about nothing, finding simplicity. We look for reasons to come along to take us away from our unending thoughts and current surroundings. Our peaceful flowing art takes us elsewhere. It is like listening to a moving song, or listening to a good story, or enjoying the aromas of our favorite home baked desserts. We find some quiet, some simple pleasures.
Blue waters, swirling gently, always seem to calm and relax us. As their currents swirl and twirl in the sunlight, rippling from center outward or curling in. They mix, and spread, and regroup to continue on it’s path. One of least resistance. Moving fluidly, as part of a much larger mass, flowing onward in an ever-changing path. The sky is much the same, and if we could see the air currents, would we just watch them stream around and on their way. Flowing, moving with subtle forces and ignited by disturbances turning themselves into dancing streams, excited, then calm again. Relaxed by the warmth of the sun’s glow, when winter is away.
Would we find ourselves, watching, meditating, relaxing as if mesmerized, as we let them lull us into day dreams? Captivated by the colors or patterns of the currents, or would we try to capture them, direct them, change them. Would we feel the need to leave our mark, our presence – by waving our hands or objects through the air and changing it. Would some of us even try to find ways to leave permanent messages in them for others, advertising, leaving our message, our ownership. We all add value in different way, and we all have different perspectives of what value is. But we could keep in mind, to try and leave where we have been, better than it was before we arrived. The Baslee Troutman Collection’s Art is real, it’s fresh and it’s from a different perspective. It’s does have appeal and is the accumulation of 47 years worth of what lies inside, the honest expression of what I’m able to share with you when I let my mind escape the daily struggles of staying on top in today’s complicated world. It is an unique and different view of where I go when I travel away to another place and time, where you can admire the beautiful aspects of nature, timing, life.
It’s what I capture and pull together that defines my optimistic, hopeful views. That’s the beauty of art, it takes you out and away, and into another place to think, to contemplate, to wonder, to rest and relax and to find yourself. The real you, when you’re not in one of your designated roles playing employee, boss, citizen, neighbor, husband, father or any other position that requires time, effort or attention.
After many years of requests to produce fine art prints, The Baslee Troutman collection series has been brought out of private collections for it’s new release into on-line galleries that will produce giclee with print-on-demand capabilities. Each newly created print is created from a digital master file at the time of request. You choose the size, paper or canvas substrates, coatings, glazing, framing and matting. These will be on-going open edition collections. The art you want, when you want it, at your convenience.
